3D Printable Tags is a web-based tool for designing and downloading custom 3D-printable key tags. All design work happens locally in your browser — your text, layout choices, and downloaded STL/3MF files are never sent to our servers. This policy describes the limited data we do collect and why.
Everything you do in the tag designer — entering text, adjusting dimensions, choosing fonts, uploading SVG logos, previewing, and downloading files — runs entirely in your browser. No design data, keyring text, uploaded files, or generated files are transmitted to or stored on our servers.
SVG files you upload are processed entirely in your browser. Only the geometric path data and fill colors are extracted; all scripts, animations, and external references are stripped automatically before anything is stored. The raw SVG file is never sent anywhere.
Your most recent tag configuration is saved in your browser's localStorage purely for convenience so your settings persist between visits. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Custom font files you upload are stored in your browser's IndexedDB so they persist between sessions without re-uploading. The font file never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can remove stored fonts at any time from the Font Style section of the designer.
If you choose to submit a tag to the public gallery, we collect and store:
Submissions are reviewed before appearing publicly. To request removal of your submission or email address, contact us at [email protected] — please include your submission title and creator name so we can locate your entry.
To prevent duplicate votes, we store a one-way hash of your IP address alongside each like. The raw IP address is never stored. The hash cannot be reversed to identify you.
When you share a tag design via a short link, we store the short code and the corresponding tag configuration on our server. No personal information is attached to a short link.
We collect anonymised, aggregate event counts (page views, STL downloads, 3MF downloads, gallery submissions, preset selections, and custom font uploads) to understand how the tool is used and guide improvements. When a custom font is uploaded, the filename (e.g. MyFont.ttf) is included in the event log alongside a complexity flag — no font file content is transmitted. No personally identifiable information is included in these events.
We may also use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic statistics (browser type, country, pages visited). Google Analytics data is anonymised before collection; no IP addresses are stored by us.
When you select a Google Font, your browser fetches font files directly from Google's servers. This is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. Google may log your IP address as part of that request.
We set one functional cookie (30-minute expiry) containing a random trace ID used solely to correlate server log lines for debugging. It contains no personal data and is never shared with third parties. Your tag configuration is stored in browser localStorage (not a cookie). If advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. This is governed by Google's advertising privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Like all web servers, our server automatically records IP addresses, HTTP method, request path, and timestamp for every request. These logs are used for security monitoring, debugging, and abuse prevention. Server logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted. IP addresses in server logs are not linked to any personal identity or user account.
Gallery submissions (including creator name, email, and preview image) are retained until you request removal or we moderate them off the platform. Anonymised event counts and like hashes are retained indefinitely as they contain no personal data.
This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you (specifically, gallery submission data) by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
